Yes. that makes sense and NO, you do not have an ATS. The receptacle in the power compartment is an extension from the generator. Can you follow that extension back to the generator? Make sure that extension has not come loose. If it has, tighten or reconnect it where it has come loose. Do you have a 110 volt meter? If it has not come loose, you need to turn the CB off and back on (reset the CB) the front of the genny. Where the extension is connected to the generator, test the voltage and tell us the results.
