Time to get down there with a strong light in the engine compartment and physically looking for any light shining inside by the driver's feet. Then you have to close every hole with some type of under hood insulation that can resist heat and sell all openings. I am sure that in addition to heat, there is engine noise that is also coming in to the cockpit that can be eliminated by properly sealing all holes in the firewall and around the dog house.
