Exhaust Brake Lubricant

Hi, I need some help deciding if WD-40 silicone lubricant would be good for lubing the exhaust brake on a Cummins diesel. This is not the regular WD-40 it is a silicone lubricant that is rated at - 100 deg. to + 500 deg. f It is called WD-40 specialist water resistant silicone lubricant.

Thanks for your help Don
  • Bee using Pac Brake juice for 11 years, the only way to go!
  • And another Pac Juice voter. Its not $$ and you only use a little each time. Goes a long ways
  • The reason everyone is saying the same thing is that the exhaust brake lives in a really terrible environment, with temperatures approaching 1000 degrees F, soot, etc.

The wrong lube could coke and actually cause the butterfly to seize.
  • Use the proper lube..WD40 isn't a lubricant, it's a water displacement. Get it from PacBrake....Dennis
  • Yep,
I second, third and forth recommend Chris's recommendation.
