Either injection for cold starting, nothing to do with anything else.
Look for a fresh air intake blockage, air filter, intake piping to air filter. Most likely rats/bird nest in the intake to the air filter.
The poster was probably referring to the mass air flow sensor, which many engines use to determine the fuel needed for proper fuel injector activation or other related functions.
As it turns out, the OP's problem was too much fuel from a faulty fuel injector.
