I have seen used vans in a safety-vest orange color, would that work? They are from some company or another.
There are also a lot of them in a lovely bright mid-blue, ex airport shuttles, feet maintained. I test drove one. Loved the color, but the paint... with the seller's permission I tried and found I could scrape it off with my thumbnail in high-dirt areas like the doors and fenders. Clearly ot had not been well cleaned, let alone sanded and primed, before painting. The seller said the shuttle co had an agreement with the paint shop and the paint job cost $800.
That kind of paint won't stand up to the scratchy branches and one lane roads I like. So, be aware!
The paint on my pickup truck is a factory paint job.... and has been just as good as any paint on any truck I have ever owned. Ford has fleet colors and they are lovely BUT.... you have to order more than one to get any of those colors. lol
they really have an array of incredible colors to choose from BUT ! LOL you CANNOT just get ONE ! believe me I TRIED for YEARS to get a truck in one of these colors.
they just won't do it.
I was lucky to get my truck... and then only because I lucked out and discovered it on a ford dealers lot because the construction company they got it for had ordered too many trucks.
So.... If I was to get a yellow van... I won't worry about the paint.
I wouldn't get a van that had anything but the factory paint job on it.
Now... I am off to do the experiment and will report back later on.
