I would check the charging voltage of your current converter first and post it here before you buy anything. I'm not sure what you mean by "overcharging dust" but if you are talking about the green build up at the battery posts you could have a weak cell in your current battery or some other parasitic load causing it to charge. What voltage do you read across the pos and neg terminals of your battery when your converter is charging?
