I think investing in newer generation charger will save you lot of money on long run.
I was restoring vintage conversion 12 years ago and bought pretty expensive inverter/charger by Xantex (?).
I think I got my money worth several times not only on flawless inventing the 120V for my AC and coffee maker, but also in charging the batteries.
The cheap golf-cart batteries not only lasted 12 years, but I remember adding water only 2 times in those years.
With 2600W charging power the unit was pretty fast as well.
When I read what owners spend those days on house batteries, I smile very wide.
