Factory desk anyone

We installed one of these:

in our dinette area.

Now we have a desk and dinning table that can be used together or separately. My wife is into scrapbooking and card making she likes a big work surface area. So we use a 5ft white plastic folding table with adjustable height and butt it up to the right side of the desk This creates an L shaped work area for her at the desk. We move the dining table into the floor area like shown in the first photo.

This setup makes for a flexible work space we can rearrange to fit our needs.

My 2006 Holiday Rambler Ambassador has a rear desk with 2 side and 1 rear window plus a sky light. Makes it nice for working with the light and airy.

I read the blog 'RVlove.com', Marc and Julie bought a Tiffin gasser with bunks. They removed the bunks and he made an office for himself has he works full time from the coach. This gives him somewhat of a separate area to work and concentrate.

Yes Busskipper....exactly liked this. Talked with ad owner yesterday...unit was sold last November..but he hasn't removed the ad yet. States he enjoys talking to the callers...go figure!

Not sure you want to hinge the purchase of such an expensive item on one feature. I looked for a table with chairs, found it. I use the dining table as my computer/workbench.

Turned out this RV also had a smaller table behind the passenger's seat that I use for my 2nd computer. Both computers are towers with large monitors. Room for eating is secondary. I carry a folding TV tray for that. Then I have the requisite collection of WiFi ready Android tablets, phones, smart TV's etc. so I have a VPN. Pick up WiFi, port it to my other devices.

Also, I thought for a long time that I could just drive to Amish country near Elkhart, Indiana and have those carpenters build me something if I needed.

Point is, I never tried to find a RV that had a perfect workstation. That gave me many more options as far as floor plan.

My old Foretravel had a desk and many of the subsequent models have them too.

We took one couch out and had a custom desk installed by Amazing Creations in Eugene, OR. Very pleased and unless we told you, you would think it was delivered with the coach. That way you can get exactly what you want and it wasn't expensive at all.

Hmm, I've only seen those custom installed, not factory.

I can't help with the Fleetwood/American Coach products, but will add that many Travel Supreme's were equipped with a full size desk in lieu of a second couch. It was one of the many reasons we purchased our rig. The only down side (to some) is that you lose the additional sleeping space. Since we only travel with our fur kids that was not a concern for us. Another plus with the desk is that it provides a pretty large surface area adjacent to the kitchen counter top. Good luck.
