grouch I am 205 and the ladder holds me well. I've owned a few RVs in the past and they didn't have beefy ladders like this one.
I sure wish I could find a bag full of the black plastic pieces that dress up the end of each rung. I cannot find these anywhere. :M
I'm not sure about a Ford based conversion but my GMC based one has a stock ladder on the door. The vans from the factory set up for passengers often had the same ladder as mine. I'll have to look but I think my ladder has metal end caps. It's possible that some of the advertisers on this site have them.
mINE HAS PLASTIC END CAPS BUT MAYBE THEY'RE BEING MADE IN METAL NOW? i'D BE FINE WITH ANY TYPE AS LONG AS THEY FIT. :) THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.
I thought I had metal ones but I've never really looked at mine. Mine are plastic too and I'm missing one. I'm thinking these ladders are an aftermarket unit the factories bought for their really fancy units. Head over to a salvage yard where you pull your own parts and deals with older stuff. Look for a van with a rear ladder. Conversion vans had these and those don't always have a raised roof. It looks like ford and GM both used the same units. I'd guess Dodge might have also. Head over to a parts yard and see what they have. Who knows, you might find some other hardware that is really hard to find but will work on your unit.
