Reflictix, or bubble foil insulation, does a good job. I have found that the best way to fasten it on windows is to use suction cups with a hook attached. Punch a small hole in the insulation for the hooks.
I tried stick-on velcro strips but, our short, hot Pennsylvania summers would melt the adhesive.
Try it, I think you will notice a difference.
