You choose to camp at State parks then there are rules that are pretty specific. State parks are more eco centric. Trees, grass etc not to mention the deep pockets of government run parks is a nice attraction for frivilous lawsuits for things like kids getting hit on bikes from a golf cart running the wrong way. I struggle to understand how you think it's ok to drive the wrong way, hang a light from a tree, park in the grass etc. I mean, this is common sense stuff especially in a state park. Just because you rent the space for a night does not make the place yours. It's still public/state property and they do the best they can to ensure it's well maintained. If everyone ignored the rules it would be a mess. Follow the rules or camp in your driveway. If you go to a hotel do you park on the curb, drive backwards through the parking garage and hang laterns from the drapes? Why would you think it's ok just because it's a campground?
