It is hard/impossible to make rules to cover every situation that can come up. There is one solution that works every time. If you don't like the rules, go somewhere else. That will make it less stressful on you as well as on your neighbors and the park rangers.
And don't forget about sprinkler heads that are often along the edges. Driving over one usually breaks them.
