Fiberglasss tunrning yellow

Hi, on my 2004 Pace Arrow motorhome the fiberglass is starting to turn a yellowish color while the metal panels are bright white. Has anyone else had similar problems and/or have any ideas on how to correct this problem.

  • Fleetwood had problems in the early 2000s with yellowing panels.

My Disco has that problem and could have been warrantied if the owner would have addressed it back then. Several of the DOAI dealt with it during that period.

Mine matches the color scheme, so I just live with it.

From what I've experienced, the white gelcoat fiberglass panels do not tend to turn yellow unless someone has applied another topcoat on them, such as floor wax, etc. The white plastic panels (refrigerator side cover panel) will yellow. Sometimes, strong detergent wash will help, but a repaint is the better cure for the plastic panels.

If you can give us a little more info as to how your coach is constructed and what is turning yellow, we could offer better suggestions.

  • We use Aero 303 (a UV protectant) on our 2002 Itasca 32V. Heard about it on this forum. Can get it from Amazon. Use it after a thorough wash/rinse. Just spray it on and wipe it dry.
