I am considering buying a 2008 Fleetwood Fiesta LX, which was in the El Monte RV rental fleet. It has (gulp) 92,000 miles. Now I KNOW that many of you have advised that the Ford chassis can go 250-300k miles. Also, the inside of this unit has been completely refurbished - if you sat on it or walked on it, it's been replaced with new. So this thing looks good, smells good, etc. Has the bunk beds my daughter wants, and is at 50k but I can buy for 45k. What I'm concerned about is, what can I NOT see that could be a ticking time bomb? Or, what damage might be hidden? They fully service these things and will show you meticulous records. And, you get a 12-month drivetrain warranty, but only 30 days on appliances. What major servicing happens around this timeframe? What parts just go (on Fiestas) that maybe haven't gone yet??I'm also considering a new Tiffin Allegro, but that means a loan. Whole other end of the spectrum right?

I bought mine from there, exact same model, and we love it. Never been happier with a purchase. They have taken care of all the little things that needed attention during that 30 day period. I was diligent about taking several camping trips so I knew what was needed. Since those little warranty repairs we have had no issues at all. Which one are you considering - the blue one or the tan one? As far as engine maintenance have them print out the service records and study them. Then you'll know what the next interval for generator service and oil change are. You'll also see all the things they had to fix because a renter ran into something. And tires - you'll know how new the tires are. If you google the Power Platform chassis you'll find the maintenance requirements for that year of manufacture. Do your homework and get a great deal.

92,000 miles? a diesel maybe, a gasser, I don't want it, and 50 K? I get suspicious when the ads don't state the roof material, therefore I would guess either rubber EPDM or TPO.bumpy

$45/50k is way too high with 92k miles. I bought my 05 Fiesta rental in 09 for $28.5k with 52k miles from Camping World. I did a lot of minor fixing up they subtracted from the price, maybe $2k. The chassis has been very reliable, the unit has had the normal bugs and annoyances. I'd do it again but not at that price.

I think 92K is quite high. Your resale value once you have used it for a few years, and taking it over 100K will be next to nothing. Maybe 20K.....maybe. 45K is too high, way too high. There are better deals out there with much less mileage. Reconditioned or not, it is a VERY used RV.

Well as for price, I am in California....that said, I'm more than willing to buy out of state, and I have been searching RV Trader daily for anything nationally that fits my parameters - there are VERY FEW, I'm seeing maybe a dozen units, that have bunk beds at or below 50k. Then try to find what the rental Fiesta has - 50 amp service, 2 AC's, new floors, new mattresses, all new fabrics, and my favorite - full body paint! Anything over 50k and we have to get a loan, and that I think opens up a larger, newer market. Different discussion.

New Floors? whats up with that, I would just worry about how many drivers drove it and how they treated it but you say it is in good shape , whats with the new floors or did you mean floor coverings?

Ours had 70K miles and we have put 10K on her. No I did not buy an extended warranty. Just returned from 2 weeks in the Tetons and had a wonderful time. The Fiesta was warm and cozy and everything worked perfectly. Picked up a windshield chip though...bummer...

I should not have said those units were hideous, ha ha. I didn't mean to sound judgmental or pompous. I have been at this research for a year, so it's getting frustrating. I'm ready to enjoy the open road, the muddy campground, the dust, all of it! Please enjoy what's left of this weekend, and if there are any Veterans out there, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE.

It's not right off the 10 but a little detour (for Texas that is) and you have a nice rig and a wonderful memory.

Thanks for the site (will scour it) but those two MH's are in my opinion, hideous. Listen I'm hot on Tiffins, I covet a nice diesel and Allison set up, etc. but those buses are severely dated. No accounting for taste right?

2004 holiday Rambler 15,000 miles.These are examples of why the 99,000 mile Fiesta is CooCoo For CoCo Puffs.Also.I love my daughter too but just because she likes the bunks is not good enough.You won't be able to sell that rig for anywhere near that price when there are these out there.Good luck.
