Filling Up A Gasser/Pump Limits

Years ago I’d leave the card with the cashier, they would allow me to pump what I needed and I would return to the cashier to sign for the amount pumped. Now most stations (especially on the interstate) refuse to hold your card but will run the card for your estimated high dollar amount. If you get less than this amount you go back to the cashier, they will adjust the amount, give you a corrected receipt and you will be billed accordingly.

You may be honest but there are enough crooks that will pump and run using stolen card to justify this inconvenience.
