You will never get away from the multiple swipes of your card. Simply call your CC company and inform them that you are traveling so they do not shut down your card. They will normally ask for a basic itinerary and time frame. Hit the pump and swipe away with no worries. We have always notified our CC company of extended travel plans whether RVing or flying and have never had any issues. Our last trip included an Ikea stop to furnish my mother's new assisted living apartment. You better believe I let them know about a large furniture purchase for a one bedroom apartment. A little preplanning takes all the headaches out of traveling.
