I do too. I scope them out carefully. My fill is on the passenger side. I make sure there is enough room to pull forward and turn when exiting to avoid taking out the pumps with the tail.
I just watch the mirrors to make sure the back is clear before making any sharp turns. It can be deceiving though. I've rammed my shed trying to swing it into my driveway several times thinking I had cleared it. So far no gas pumps though.
