Mostly, I agree with this statement, if lanes are parallel to store front. If perpendicular, I am more careful as to where the exits are, because of the need for wider turns. I usually pull in 3-4+ feet from the pumps to allow me more maneuvering room at exit. My fill is in the rear so I have a liberty of using left (my preferred) or right side pump. This allows me to set myself to choose to do pumps on the left if I am required to turn left to exit or pumps on the right if turning right to exit. This reduces my tail swing risk.
Patients is the biggest virtue. There will be a number of drivers that have to cut you off because they can and will not wait.
