My questions: Does anyone have any experience with this type of fire suppression system? Even though it may save the coach what effect will it have on the eng and other things in that compartment?

They are probably similar to what NASCAR uses in race cars, looks like a sprinkler head you see in the ceiling but use dry chemical instead of water.
