At 55 must be nice to take 6 months to travel. As for healthcare you are at an age that that investment might be the best one you ever made. with Medicare life gets a lot easier in the insurance world. I am a proponent as I save over 1500 in scripts alone now, life is good.
As for your trip if you know each other well then this will be great fun. If you never took the time to know each other it might be more than an adventure! We do it ever year and to us we love doing the USA.
