Time to come on over to the Snowbird forum, lots of us there that do what you'll be doing.
It's easier then you think, and the first year is always the most difficult. Sounds to me like you have a good plan, just don't be too surprised at the bad quality of the parks down in Florida (for the price.) Trick is not to spend too much time down there, just the coldest months.
