GREAT POST! And great advice!
We are currently shopping for a used Class A for our family of 4. We have a definate budget. We used the "Oh wouldn't this be fun to have" method when we purchased our used Class C a year and half ago. Yes, we did have fun. But not thinking, our boys were too small to put in the overhead bed so my husband and ended up using it. The bed was fine, but we both hated climbing up/down the ladder. Also, without really giving it a good long test drive, my husband found the Class C cockpit somewhat claustrophobic for his 6'5" frame. Also his poor head had several head knocking bumps from him trying to "walk thru" to the back from the overhead.
While searching for our Class A, the one thing I will not compromise on is sleeping arrangements! I don't want to have to "break down" any of the furniture (ie: dinette, sofa) at night and then again in the morning. With all our past RV's it seems that my family was out and about first thing in the morning and then sitting around the fire at night, while "mom" was inside making up/taking down beds, UGH!!!!
