Hi Johny,
Thank you for your help. We have been doing a lot of what you said although not as thouroughly. However, I need more help from you and the Forum. If you guys could point me to some specific directions we would really appreciate it.
I am a RV newbie that is thinking in moving from sailboats (sailing for over 20 years) to RVs. We have rented 3 times and liked a lot. Besides, my wife just likes the concept of a “Curb to stop” and “be able to call AAA” in case something happens to me. So…RVing becomes the choice as I am not changing the wife 8-). We did some homework and got to some decisions that we would like to have your help, as follows:
-We like Class A coaches and decided for a gas one given that we will not travel extensively for now or in the next 5 years.
-We initially settled for a 34’ to 37’ range with a given floor plan that is very good for us. We are being advised to go with a 32’ as it is more commercial as well as we will be able to get in about every Park given the size restrictions.
So…I need your help in trying to decide how to go about making our decision.
-First question is; buy new or used ($ is not a problem as an exercise).
-Is the gas decision right or should we go with a Diesel one?
-We have visited several dealers and researched on the Internet the different brands of coaches that are available and we are confused in how to select a good coach versus one that will give us only headaches instead of fun. Is there a rating system that will rank the “Rolls Royce”, “Mercedes”, “BMW”, “Cadillac”, “Chevy”, “KIA”, and the “Hyundai” of MHs? In your opinion which ones should I go with that will be a safe bet and which ones should I avoid, no matter what. We would prefer to be out there instead of in dealers or mechanic shops
Please help!!!!
