Johnny, Your article is right on. Complete, comprehensive and informative. We bought our first motorhome 2.5 years ago, a used Monaco, Diplomat. Overall we have enjyoed the coach. However, I feel Monaco needs to improvement in a few areas that were problems for me and required fairly substantial repair costs. I read a few posts recently that substantiated my experience. It is currently having a repair on the heater for the second time in one year.
We are now considering replacing our unit and have done quite a lot of research; printed, on line and on site at dealers. I have come to the conclusion that Country Coach will likely be my next pruchase, provided I find what I want or can live with.
My research revealed that the Monaco chassis is not ideal for optimum ride and handling. My conversations with owners of CC and other coaches with indepenent front suspension tells me that I don't want another coach with a solid front axle. Some of the coments I heard were from CC owners who had previously owned other makes and would not trade for anything but CC.
I understand Newmar, which I also considered buying, has a very good reputation for quality and service.
If you have time I would appreciate your comments regarding quality of the the aforementioned. Your experince and knowledge in the rv industry is very helpful to other than first time buyers.
Thank You,
David Douglas
