Your post and information is very good. I followed most of your advice, before I read it since I purchased my 1st Class A motorhome a week ago. I have been doing research on various models/MFGs. for the past year looking at floor plans, construction, chassis, etc. I saw a new 2003 Travel Supreme 38DSO2 model in Sept. at an RV show in Louisville, KY. and was impressed with the quality, floor plan, options, etc. of this unit. I hesitated on making an offer and the Sales Mgr. sold it to a friend, before I finally called. After studying many brochures of Monaco, Country Coach, Travel Supreme, Tiffin, to name a few I decided that if I could find a nice 2003 or 2004 Travel Supreme I would try to buy it. I located a new 2003 model 38KSO2 in MI. and called the dealer. He explained the options and MSRP and to make the story short, when I returned from a vacation in SC, I drove to the factory for a tour, and on to the dealership to inspect and drive the unit. I will say the Spartan chassis, used, appears to have more quality then the freightliner. The independent front suspension used rides and handles very well. A friend of mine has an American Eagle with the Spartan chassis and drove a 2003 HR Scepter 36' and did not like the ride or handling compared to his 92 model Am. Eagle. The new 2003 cost me what a used comparable model would cost and I have the full warranty coverage. I am anxious to take delivery and have been studying the Owners Manual since I returned from the dlrshp. I will be better prepared to take the orientation and instruction of the operation of the unit as a result. Keep posting great articles, as being new on this forum they are very helpful. I have been RVing since the early 70's primarily with travel trailers, going from a 17' Rolite (solid wall folddown), to a 24' Concord tandem axle, to 84 Avion 30' to 89 Avion 32' to our new Travel Supreme. My wife tried to talk me into a 5wheel trailer, but wanted a Class A Motorhome. What yr. and model do you have?
