What a great thread!! Just had a bit of helpful info for new and experienced buyers of a motorhome. We bought our first motorhome (Monaco MonarchSE 36DBD) a year ago. It is a gasoline powered coach with 2 slides. We love it! A couple of things to consider when getting ready to sign. There are 2 types of RV "sales" that I saw when looking. One offered a very low interest rate and the other was a substantial reduction in price at a higher interest rate. Both would lead to similar monthly payments. It is better to take the lower price at the higher interest rate because your interest is deductible and you can deduct a larger portion of your yearly RV payments. Also, as in buying a car, if you wait until the next years models are out and there are not too many of the current year models around, you can get a great price reduction. We bought ours in August. The cheapest we had seen the model we wanted in the months before that was around $120000. We ended up paying $89000 for it, got 6 months with no payments, and a $500 gas card as they were very motivated to get it off the lot. Good luck on your purchase!!!
