Mel what we are saying is when you go to buy, if it (whatever "it" is, is not there, not working, and you are told, "will fix, get manuals, repair-replace, "not an issue", etc, you have two options
A. RUN
B. Advise in writing what your issues are, and do not purchase, get much down (note on Down, "subject to repairs-etc, to set reasonable period of time to repair-etc, or 100% refund after set period of time". Purchase subject to timely repairs etc". Be careful with down, holding unit etc, as some folks might just take down and forget rest if big enough and not do what is wanted.
AKA if you cannot lay hands on it, forget promises, paper, repair orders, etc. Apply option 1. You can be assured the "Just love that unit" etc, there will another one as good or better out there.
