The one red that you say is for the house lights probably goes to a convertor/charger for the house batteries. When plugged in to 110V house current you would be using the convertor for lighting and also charging the house battery. The RV industry is famous for adding those small wires at the battery. With the thunb screw terminals it makes it easier for connections.
