As a suggestion, non other, in reading the sections and others in all of the types of campers that I have owned over the years. Every so often the problem of how hard it is to trace out a short, especially an intermittent one comes up. Not counting the cost of fuses or worn out weak circuit breakers. I don't think a person would have any trouble with a long run (in the attic) with a quality insulated next gage higher than recommended wire, as far as a short. But in my experience those plastic clamp/crimp together connectors should be banded. They oxidize. Thing about when you tap into these main runs with your lights, etc to make the pig-tail leads long enough to be able to pull out the fixture and examine the connection. Most can not, and its a bugger trying to get back in there threw a little hole Mark what runs are for at box & on the wire, fuse right, solder and use heat shrink tubing at joints.
