So much for a "summer" project!
Not many project go according to schedule! How many times have you started to fix one thing and that leads to another thing and so on.
Good example is our house. Because my DW is in a wheelchair she was finding all the carpet harder to get around on and I found trying to keep the carpet clean was a real headache. Ikea had laminate on for a real good price so I bought enough redo the upstairs. At the same time there was a wall that the original builders put a decorative plaster on and rounded corners of doorways etc. Looked really dated. Tore it all out to find walls not framed right and not square or level for that matter. They had put particle board over the floors plywood subfloor and used roofing nails and very few were into the floor joists (no wonder it squeaks) so I spent a lot more time refastening the flooring and making sure it was into the framing. Tore the plaster wall out and redrywalled it and removed the arches and squared everything that I could without major work. In the end a 2 month project has been going for over 4 though I can see the end. Same thing happens when you renovate an old RV, one thing leads to another, just the way it goes.
In the end spectramac will have a good MH for not a lot of money and the upside is he will know it inside out and he will know what he has. It may take a year but the end result will be worth it.
