The FS1242 is a 10 micron PRIMARY FILTER element that takes a clear plastic bowl. Primary is the first one the fuel get to from the tank.
The FS1022 is a 2 micron SECONDARY FILTER.
Sounds like you had a 2 micron filter followed by a 2 micron filter!
