This (Per the FMCA web site no less) Is a bit like the AARP
WHen it was formed you had to be retired (I am) But with folks living longer and retiring later membership was shrinking. So they opened to younger folks who are not yet retired. And changed from"American Association of Retired People to just AARP.
Again, My position on this issue is... Basically Non Existant as it does not affect me. I do not (Now days) attend rallys I am in it for the Mitchlin discount and other benefits.
Even the "Get you and the RV home if you get sick" program.. Not interested, Have a nice piece of gold tinted plastic with MASA printed on it. They do it too. ALl paid for, no dues.
