Every exclusive organization has pit falls should there be demographic changes in their own criteria.
To me, a self contained motorized unit is a MH. That includes TC's, yet FMCA poo hoos units of that type because they could be separated used as separate units, Truck or Camper.
FMCA is now faced with declining membership due in part to its own focus on bus shaped class A rvs by marketing primarily those units.
My park has been an FMCA Park since we bought it in 2001. The only offer we have is the standard 10% off, very rarely asked for. Nearly every guest already has a Good Sam, Senior , or military qualification, so FMCA is rarely a discount issue. One only needs to read the monthly magazine to see it is one big ad for the mfgrs of new models with some rally info and help lines thrown in.
Its too little, too late. Towables are outpacing sales of self powered units by leaps and bounds as the younger generations come in with their suvs and diesel pickups.
Do not even try to deny that as a likely minority that some A owners are not high nosed about their camping neighbors. There would be no class A only parks if there were not a shrinking market for them. Parks of that nature are exclusive to 55+, 10 years or newer units only arent they?
