At home I use a 10 foot free standing step ladder. I set it up adjacent to the rig to get close.
Ron .... I'd sure like to see a photo of you stretching off the top of your ladder as you wiggle onto your RV roof to get up there for waxing it .... then another shot of you wiggling off the roof to slide back onto the ladder to get down after the wax job! ;)
I have a 10 foot ultra-stable (very wide spread of it's legs) aluminum orchard ladder that extends all the way up to and slightly over the height of our RV's roof ... but no way can I safely work myself off it and onto the slippery fiberglass roof of our Itasca ... let alone do the reverse.
I assume that many RV owners eventually have to get up onto their RV roofs to periodically clean/wax them, or replace sealants, or repair something. I also assume that these same folks are using their RV's built-in rear ladders to do it relatively safely. Are many of them without built-in RV ladders therefore doing (dangerous?) balancing acts with external ladders to do these transfers, or are they just plain doing nothing up on their roofs, or are they hiring someone else to deal with roof issues?
