order guard feelings today is partly correct. Saying that as regular crossers and check the regs as yes they do change form time to time most do not.
Beef, pork, chicken etc is usually ok most of the time. As mentioned leave the lamb veal at home.
Fruits and veggies are all over the place especially ones grown in the areas where there are insect issues. Apples and potatoes are ones that are always a challenge due to bugs and worms so suggest don't even pack them or take your chances.
For pet food bags must be in original pkg and labelling and suggest thatfor best results. They are looking for things like lamb so make sure there is none or you may get it taken away. We have taken dry and frozen food and been checked and have no issues. We did a 3 week Oregon coast trip last year and took enough raw food for the whole trip and they checked the labelling and all was passed.
If you are nervous or not sure just take packaged food and but the fresh food when you get across the order and you will be safe. Food isn't really that much less down south any more so not a big deal to buy there as it used to be.
