PS - dirty MAF usually causes a lean condition, and hence pinging under certain conditions. I used to run a K&N too so I'm no stranger to frequent MAF cleaning (every time the pining would come back). I switch to an AFE Stage-2 intake kit. Unlike the K&N the AFE does increase power, and now the MAF stays clean.
