I guess I wasn't as picky about the Coachmen because it was 9 years old when I got it and a lot less of an investment. Actually some things seem about the same between them, and maybe just standard for Class C MH's. Things like how the outlets are mounted in the interior walls where it feels like you could literally pull them right out if you just applied enough pressure...both of my Class Cs had this issue. I can tell you that the A/C in my Sunseeker is much louder than my Coachmen and doesn't cool as well. I don't know what to attribute that to, it's just a fact. On a hot day when the AC is blasting all the time, you really can't even watch a movie on the main cabin TV without literally blasting the volume to hear dialog...things like that were just unexpected.
We have 2014 Sunseeker and I agree the AC unit is loud, our unit is a little smaller and it cools the unit fine (now we do block off all windows, and skylight in main cabin, and keep a fan to circulate the air to support on really hot days). I believe you are also on the FROG (Forest River Owners Group) Forum, and I have seen a thread from you there. Looking through Forest River, noisey AC's common thread (GeorgeTown Class A's) have some threads on this issue. There is company in Florida that has designed a noise shield, with claims of 50% noise reduction (we are thinking of checking into this a little further), around a $300 investment.
Did you purchase from McGeorge in Richmond? We did, traveling out of Alanta (they had a discontinue floorplan we wanted, and were more aggressive on price than Atlanta market). Fortunately we have a few minor warranty issues, which Forest River work well with us on through a great Service cneter in Atlanta.
