Found my C!
I've been looking for a few months, pulled the trigger this weekend and bought an 05 Tioga 29v! Really an 04, as it has the 4R100, but it's a MY05 according to Fleetwood.
So I called about, and looked at quite a few motorhomes locally (San Francisco Bay Area) but either saw ****, nice motorhomes that were just priced too high, or usually **** that was priced way too high... I'm not a slave to NADA, but I had a budget and a pretty tight spec list I wanted to meet. Things that I could afford weren't good enough, and ones that had what I wanted cost too much! So I expanded my search. This one I bought was on RVtrader.com and was located in eastern Oregon, about 8 hours away. I talked to the seller a few times, got a general condition report from the sellers mechanic (a local independent shop that did all the work over the years for her), and decided to go for it.
I was convinced that if it was what she said, that it was worth going to check out. I rented an econobox and drove up there Saturday. I liked it, bought it, returned the car to a local airport and drove the motorhome home! So $22k later (more than I originally wanted to spend, but I convinced myself it was a fair price) I've got a sweet rig that meets all of my wants lists, has a 2 year old roof (due to a branch, and insurance), 3 year old tires, new batteries, 31k miles, and most importantly... no signs of any leaks at all! Not a stain, no saggy wallpaper (saw that one more than a few times in my search...) and no delamination.
Who knows what the future holds, but I'm 100% sure it was well maintained by the previous owner, and I'm excited to start making mods to it.
Here it is in a rest area somewhere near Redding, CA.
