from a C to an A

That really very good option as there are so many advantages of Class A RV that are very important like:
Class A Motor home or the conventional motor home are the largest motor homes and the most luxurious ones of all the motorized RVs with size up to 45 feet. It can be thought of as a virtual home on wheels with all the amenities and facilities. It can be for any type of short or long holidays but Class Cmotor homes are the mini-motor homes. It is convenient and spacious and can be thought of as a larger motor home at lower cost. In this there is a space for sleeping over the cab with size up to 30 feet. These are smaller than Class A but larger than Class B RV
according to above  i think Class A will be good option but must be in budject and also family need.

perhaps i should clarify our overcab space is the entertainment center, components, and cabinets. we have a full walk-around queen in the rear--love it. if it just had a little more living space forward......

We just traded a 37 foot Thor Infinity in January! Had 12 virtually trouble free years with it, and we didn't hesitate to buy another Thor. If your experience is anything like ours was, you should be very happy with one!! Based on what we got in trade, there are some great buys out there on them!! Only reason we traded was to get a smaller more narrow coach because we are rarely out more than a week at a time. Hope you find exactly what you are looking for! :)

There is no view like out that huge windshield on a class A motorhome.

As for the comparisons...
I'm guessing the overcab bed on your C is underutilized.
C's have a fairly limited CCC with their 14,000 lb chassis.
Driving a C is like driving a van with a big *ss (note in some cases this could be a plus. My DW has said she's never touch the wheel of our DP but could see herself driving a van based class C with a more normal view over the hood)

thank you all for the thoughtful replies. our basic goal is more living space; just don't want something too unwieldy. appreciate the reply also regarding the Thor ACE. yes, our winnebago is a super unit--hate to sell--but need more living space--something more comfortable especially with add'l persons guesting. obviously not a quick find. we have lots of basement storage in the winnie--including a pass thru; something i've only found in one A so far. actually, as most of you probably know, more storage space than ability to pack as it can be overloaded. now we want to haul a toad as well. appreciate all your help!

You will notice a space difference even if you don't go much longer in length just because you don't have all the wasted engine room in the front. We moved from a 25 foot class c to a 30 foot class a and it is like we doubled in size! We have a Thor ACE and love it. Some pros for us were no more setting up taking down beds/tables as we now have a dedicated bed. And we don't have to climb a ladder to get into it. Much more convenient and accessible storage. Better layout for us. I would say do a lot of comparison shopping. Really compare floor plans, storage space, capacity of tanks, etc. If something seems to really fit you, you will know. Have fun!

If you like your C, keep it. We were where you are two years ago and opted for a 34' A. There is not a day that I do not wish we had left well enough alone. The pros: We have more room. Hmmm, guess that's it. I will not bore you with the cons since they are mostly personal preferences.

A number of years ago we went from a 27' class C to a 32' class A (actually 33'). We went for no slides as I couldn't get the drivers seat back far enough. But there was more than enough basement storage. We have full timed (with 3 cats) for 1.5 years in it and didn't feel cramped. In fact we still have the same class A with 73,000 miles now. If you can find a used quality coach a few years old you can save $$ on depreciation. We went with gas as neither of us can "hack" diesel fumes. Plus the 32-33' length is easier to get into small camping sites.

I am on the con side. Why buy another MH if you are happy with the one you have and apparently is in excellent condition. If is not mandatory to have an A just because you are now full timing!
