Front 3M Film Removal

Ugly Shield Removal - Wayne

Just had the front film removed from our motorhome. Highly recommend Wayne out of Fort Myers, FL. He and his Dad completed the job in one day.

Website is still under development but the phone number is good. I have no affiliation with this business. Just wanted to pass on a personal recommendation.

Looks good. Mine needs removing but may do it myself.
  • Just had mine removed after 12 years. It was cracked in many places. The guys that did it used a humidifier not a heat gun. Took two workers 8 hrs to remove the 3 M and the adhesive.
  • We paid just under $800 out the door. It was expensive but Wayne came personally recommended and we had seen his work. We had watched other folks take their own off with varying results. Getting the film off doesn't seem to be much of a problem. However, getting the adhesive off without damaging the paint can be much more difficult.
  • I got mine off myself but would have gladly paid someone $800 to do it. I still have a piece on the lowest part of the front clip that I want to remove but it is still in good shape so I have left it alone.

I worked on mine off and on for about 5 days.
  • I'd be curious what 3M would say about their product failing miserably. My opinion, they should cover the cost of removal.

$2000. The removal was $1000 with no paint damage. The 3M after 12 years was severely cracked. The adhesive removal was the real issue. $600 for the product and adhesive and $400 to install. All completed at my indoor storage site in two days.

When you give this dollar amount was the work done by the company I recommended in the original post? I don't want anyone to be confused.

Not who you recommended. I'm in Southern California.
