Sooooo .... it's OK to pit the full-power Chevy V8 truck against the throttled-down (2-valve version) Ford V10? I don't think so.
The results would perhaps have been different if comparing the Chevy V8 to Ford's real (3-valve version) V10. That's the difference between the "data" derived from marketing guys running an "experiment" and engineers running one.
BTW and FWIW, what engine do you think will idle smoothest (so you don't feel vibration in a motorhome's floor) for the several minutes during occasional/emergency charging of RV coach batteries via the engine alternator .... a V8 or a V10?
