Currently Tesla is the gold standard: Curb weight 4647 lbs with a battery that weighs 1200 lbs and cost $25-30,000 and goes 250-300 Miles/Charge with good aerodynamics.
Translate that to my MH which has a combined weight of 45,000 lbs and the aerodynamics of a brick. So we need 12,000 lbs of batteries (10X the weight of a Tesla which is twice the weight of my engine and tranny) at a cost of $250,000+ instead of $40,000 so I can go maybe 200 miles (it's a brick), but I often do 600... OK I need to smell the roses more. Add $210K to the cost plus the electric motors.:h
OH, I forgot about the generator so 40HP instead of 400 so maybe I can go 240 miles with it running plus the magical solar... 400 sqft equals 5000 watts on a sunny day or 7HP but now I do not have room for the AC or sat dish or any vents but now I can go 248 miles.
I think I'll age out before this happens, but maybe my grand kids will see it... not likely.
