Well it's been an exciting evening. I came home to a dead battery on my daily driver. But I decided the rv needed me first so I pulled the furnace cover off, identified the sail switch and plugged in to some shore power. I then turned on the thermostat and ran back to the furnace to see if the sail switch did its thing. It did and I started getting some warm air out of the exterior exhaust. So I head back inside to check at the vents and as soon as I do the LP alarm starts going off, my heart stops immediately. So I shut off the thermostat and ran away leaving the door open behind me.
Man was I nervous until I heard the alarm stop. I was a little jittery going back in to open windows to say the least. I gave it some time to air out and figured maybe the propane smell was because I had that cover off. I put it back on and nervously clicked the thermostat back to heat. It fires off and I get heat but start to notice the smell again. So I immediately shut it off and turned off the propane tank. I figured I'll just find some one to fix it this point since my nerves are shot.
Again I give it time to air out plenty then I close it up and plug in a space heater, lowest setting possible, to prevent any freezing.
Then I remember the dead daily driver. Conveniently parked right next to my bomb of an rv. I pull out the charger, hook it up and as soon as I plug it in the horn honks. Stupid car alarm. I thought the space heater blew up the rv right next to me.
My nerves are now shot. Not the best evening for a dude with Crohns. :D
Headed to a repair shop in the morning to have the LP smell resolved. I'll go from there.
On a positive note, my LED's made it from China.
