The problem with inserting a new grade 8 bolt is there is no room to work. If you look at the top, it is nearly impossible to put a bolt through a hole. Winnebago Factory Service are the ones who advised welding the bolt to the frame. They stated that if the unit was brought to their facility, this would be the way they would repair it, rather than remove the slide. I wish there was a better answer, as I was also concerned about the weld integrity. I dropped off the coach today for repair, and I will see if the tech can take a picture of the fix before the end cap is secured. This way , I can share it with you! I will keep you all posted!
