I just drove a 2013 Four Winds 28Z, E-450, 6.8L, gas, 2750 miles from VA to WA. It didn't make much difference if I was going up hill, down hill, wet, dry, windy, or calm. I got 7.x mpg the entire trip.
I suspect that the only way to improve the mileage is to drive 55 mph. which I did not do.
