OK, don't want to hijack the thread but since it's been discussed I've always wondered about a Gen Turi.
If I hook it up to my generator exhaust (left front) and run it up to the roof what prevents gases from coming in any of the 6 openings in my roof (3 ACs and 3 vents)? They are all basically at the same level now. Not trying to start any arguments here, just wondering?
thanks
Chris
Although CO is not lighter than air as a lot of folks believe, the exhaust gas coming from the generator is significantly hotter than the ambient air. Since hot air rises the gasses will continue going up until they cool to the ambient temperature. Theoretically, by that time they will be sufficiently diluted by outdoor air to be at a safe concentration level. Of course, wind speed and direction can interfere with the rising hot exhaust and then just about anything can happen.
It would seem the best thing to do would be to close all roof vents when using a GenTuri type device.
