I have been an "engine guy" all my life. Oil leaks are most often easily stopped.
My suggestions:
Get the manuals and parts lists for your unit.
Take the unit out and clean it.
Check for loose fasteners.
Run it and see if it still leaks.
Clean it again and spray it with a power deodorant (we used to use expensive stuff call tracing powder, but this will work.)
When you find where it is still leaking, fix that and try again.
This is a major league PITA, but it is usually worth it.
