Every year or every 250 hours sounds about right.

Once a year like you would the main engine unless you put a lot more miles on it than most people. I run the same oil in both engines so there's no chance in mixing something up.

I was changing the generator air filter every year but after examining them (I get 50 - 60 hours a year on it) after the change, I've gone to every other year.

I get my oil changes done at Speedco and I prefer to take my own filters. They don't always have generator filters on hand. I prefer the Onan and Cat filters. They usually want to substitute another brand of fuel filter that doesn't have the bowl on the bottom.

every one is different some go by hours some by time passed (months/year)
I go strictly by time(hours used) every 150 hours is my preference
because I don't use the gen set hardly at all iam good for 4-5 years at that rate
