That's an interesting solution to the problem! LOL
When I was figuring out a solution, I designed a little circuit that would require the oil level sensor signal to be tripped for a steady 3 seconds BEFORE passing a shut-down signal to the generator. It was a pretty simple circuit and was "lab tested", though never actually connected to the generator. But since switching to the straight SAE-30 oil, I never needed to connect it to the generator to give it a real test.
