Generator switch

I have an 06 National Sea Breeze and when I went to turn my generator of at the switch on the dash it wouldn't turn off I had to go to the unit and turn the switch off there! Would that mean my switch on the dash is bad? I thought I would check and see if anyone had same experience what they found!

    Most likely the switch has failed, but check for a loose connection behind it...Dennis

    More likely a broken wire or corroded connection. Check the remote wiring plug at the generator, and also check for butt connectors a foot or so along the wire, sometimes tucked inside a wire wrap.
